At any given time, the Altamont Baking Team consists of six or seven residents of Mental Health Association | Oklahoma housing facilities, and an equal number of Synagogue volunteers. We currently operate on Tuesdays beginning at 11:00 a.m. Depending on the number of cookies ordered, our day can run anywhere up until midnight. There's a short break for lunch and a shared dinner for residents and volunteers at 5:30 p.m. Our team welcomes calls from prospective participants who are eager to volunteer their time. We can always use additional help during the morning, afternoon, or evening slots.

Cookies are packed on Wednesday mornings at 9:00 a.m. and delivered beginning at noon. We are always looking for careful, painstaking packers and safe drivers. Think about it: pleasant work benefiting formerly homeless citizens with new skills and their first paycheck in a very long time.

We would also appreciate your help in making contact with merchants, office managers, public institutions, restaurants, and other venues where our cookies can be sold. We'll send you out with an irresistible cookie sample and a short description of our project. All you have to say is "Would you give this some thought? I'll give you a follow-up call a week from today!"

For all questions about volunteerism, please call Altamont Administrator Betty Lehman at 918.583.7121.
